Our Founder
Kim Shamsiddin is the founder and creative director of Al Shams Abayas Exceptional Islamic Apparel. Inspired by her global travels to Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Caribbean, Kim's design aesthetic embodies sumptuous textiles, rich hues and a blend of textural elements. It is these core elements that define and shape the hallmarks of the Al Shams brand: sophistication, style and timeless elegance.

Born and bred in New York City, Kim is a Wall Street attorney and seasoned professional with over 15 years of corporate experience and acute business acumen having honed her skills at top New York firms including Proskauer Rose, the New York Stock Exchange and the world's most prestigious investment bank, Goldman Sachs.
A U.S. Army veteran and former undercover NYPD officer, Kim enjoys working-out, healthy eating, listening to Islamic lectures and spending time with family.
